Three schools named winners of Pollo Tropical Team Dinner Sweepstakes
FNF Magazine is happy to announce that two high school football teams in Florida and one in Texas will each receive 50 free meals at Pollo Tropical as a reward for winning the inaugural Pollo Tropical Team Dinner Sweepstakes.
The winning schools include Glades Central High (FL), Rickards High (FL) and Huffman-Hargrave High (TX). Coaches from each school made their respective cases for the free team dinners through submissions to the contest on the FNF website at www.FNFmagazine.com. The contest, which ran from August 9 to August 30, asked coaches to state their cases in 100 words or less as to why their school was most deserving of the 50 free meals.
According to Glades Central High coach Roosevelt Blackmon: “This will be a great chance to teach our kids about trying new type of food (Caribbean style). Our kids really don’t get a chance to eat from a place like Pollo Tropical.”
Rickards High coach Quintin Lewis expressed his team’s need for a quality meal during the football season.
“Students need the school lunch to have a quality meal,” Lewis wrote. “So winning a contest like this one will provide kids in need with a good meal one night out of the week.”
Huffman-Hargrave coach Mike McEachern plans to invite 10 “at-risk” elementary school students to join his team of 40 for the team dinner.
“The Falcons of Huffman love to perform community service work,” McEachern wrote. “Many of the players are part of two groups called FLY (Falcons Leading Youth) and BAMM (Becoming a Man’s Man). FLY is for high school students working with ‘at-risk’ elementary students who need tutoring/mentoring. BAMM is a program for boys in grades 7-12 that meet once a month. If the Huffman Falcons were to win the 50 free meals, the team of 40 would invite 10 ‘at-risk’ elementary youths to join them in a lunch at school for a surprise feast!”
FNF will send out vouchers for 50 free dinners at Pollo Tropical to each school on September 1. Visit www.FNFmagazine.com and follow on Twitter @FNFmag for information on future contests.
