Melissa Macatee of Highland Park High (Texas) has won 2015 FNF Photographer of the Year through an online vote that was open to fans in April.
“I am very blessed; I love what I do and getting to showcase the student athletes doing what they love makes it very rewarding,” Macatee said. “Many of my votes came from our community and former Highland Park program athletes which is very humbling, they took time out of their life to stop and participate in the voting.”
A group of 10 finalists – representing four schools in Texas, two schools each in Florida and South Carolina and one each in Georgia and North Carolina – drew a total of more than 5,000 votes in the contest. Macatee’s photo generated 942 votes, enough to top the second-place finisher by 270.
FNF Magazine launched the contest and began accepting submissions March 24. The contest ran through May 1 with an online vote.
Macatee’s work will be featured in the print edition of FNF Texas Magazine and Highland Park will also be featured in an article within our 2015 edition.
Congratulations to Macatee as well as all of the finalists. Thanks to the fans who took the time to vote.
