Add another win to the record-breaking total for the C.E. Murray (S.C.) football team.

In the midst of the best season in War Eagles program history, C.E. Murray recently added another win to its tally. This one came in the form of a win in the 2015 Friday Night Football Magazine Team Moms Contest, sponsored by Samsung.

FNF Magazine set out to determine the school that boasted the best collection of football moms through an online vote that ran from July 1 to October 22. C.E. Murray received a total of 5,989 votes – more than any other school in South Carolina. As a reward, FNF Magazine and Samsung will make a $1,000 donation to the booster program. The C.E. Murray team moms will also be featured with a story and photo in the 2016 edition of FNF Carolinas Magazine.

“This is really going to be a help for us,” said C.E. Murray team mom Sonja Rush Harvin. “We have a very small school in a very rural area. We don’t have a lot of businesses in our area. We have to do a lot of fundraising on our own. This will go a long way for our kids.”

C.E. Murray will enter its regular-season finale tonight against East Clarendon with an 8-1 record, having already clinched a playoff berth. The War Eagles will host their first-round opponent to be determined Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. At halftime of that game, the C.E. Murray team moms will participate in a check presentation.

“This is the first time in our history we’ve had a team with this record,” said Rush Harvin, who also works at C.E. Murray. “They’ve been winning all year, so everybody is very excited. We put this Team Mom Contest out there on social media, to our feeder programs at the elementary school and to our alumni – and it was no problem. We’ve very excited, and hope to win it again next year.”
