Friday Night Football Alabama Magazine has recognized Vinemont for having the best team moms in the state – an honor Eagles coach Matt Norris calls “our biggest win of the year.”

Vinemont won the 2015 FNF Magazine Football Team Moms Contest, sponsored by Samsung. FNF Magazine set out to determine the school the boasted the best collection of football moms through an online vote than ran from July 1 to October 22. Vinemont received a total of 5,989 votes – more than all other schools in Alabama combined. As a reward, FNF Magazine and Samsung will make a $1,000 donation to the booster program. The Vinemont team moms will also be featured with a story and photo in the 2016 edition of FNF Alabama Magazine.

“Vinemont’s team moms are passionate about their kids – period,” said Vinemont teacher and team mom Tracie Boland. “Just ask a VHS team mom if she is proud of her boy, and she will more than likely reply, ‘I’m proud of all of them!’”

Vinemont had its struggles on the field this fall after graduating 25 seniors over the last two seasons. With a total of just 26 players on the roster, the Eagles went 1-9. That did not discourage the fans from rallying around the team throughout this contest. The Vinemont team moms shared the link to the contest page – http://fnfmagazine.com/al-moms/ on Facebook, encouraging their friends to vote. The VHS faculty also spread the word to the student body.

“The VHS Team Moms are an exceptional group of ladies!” Boland said. “The jobs they do range from preparing and selling concessions, providing and serving pre-game meals, designing and selling team t-shirts, recruiting business sponsors, designing and selling the football program, organizing team picture day, participating in field maintenance prior to the game, cleaning up the field after games, and providing a post-season team banquet. There is no task that is too big or too small for these ladies to tackle.”
