Four high school juniors have earned the right to grace the cover of the 2015 Friday Night Football (FNF) Carolinas Magazine. Two players from North Carolina – North Stanly’s Antonio Williams and Davidson Day’s Cade Carney – and two others from South Carolina – Goose Creek’s Javon Kinlaw and Whale Branch’s Nyles Pinckney – received enough support from their fans to earn the right to pose for the magazine cover.
These four athletes were selected from a pool of 17 of the state’s top Class of 2016 recruits. FNF Carolinas opened the cover selection process to the fans on Feb. 5 at http://fnfmagazine.com/coverboys/, and in less than two months, more than 40,000 people visited the FNF Carolinas Magazine online vote.
The online vote was particularly popular in North Carolina, where the two winners, Williams and Carney, combined to receive more than 9,000 votes between the voting in the first round and finals. In South Carolina, Kinlaw and Pinckney combined to receive more than 1,500 votes. In total, more than 25,000 people logged votes for the contest.
A representative from FNF Carolinas Magazine will contact the winning athletes’ coaches in the coming days to inquire about setting up cover shoots for each player.
Last year’s third annual FNF Carolinas Magazine included 114 oversized, full-color pages with features and in-depth previews of 614 high school football programs in North Carolina and South Carolina. The digital link is available at here.
With the 2015 season set to kickoff at the end of August, the extensive school previews are complemented by feature stories, player statistics and recruiting information as well as predictions and rankings of every kind.
